Throughout time, women have been on the forefront of technology, science, mathematics, culture and every other discipline imaginable. Despite decades of progress and numerous accomplishments, modern women are still challenged daily by discrimination, harassment, and inequality in society, the workplace, and government. To solve issues like climate change, income inequality and healthcare, we must create a society free of discrimination on sex or gender.
While taking the time to acknowledge and appreciate women in history and your life, give back strengthening and preserving their rights. This goes for women of all orientations and genders, who all deserve respect and equality. Our mission is to use our platform to educate, engage and motivate people to understand the importance of gender equity in America, while giving them direct means of taking action for it. Together, we can all work toward a fairer, discrimination-free world.
Gender Equity.
August 2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which legally granted women the right to vote nationwide after decades of the suffragette movement. This, along with women entering the workforce during the World War I & II drafts, marked a new age for American women; one where their voices could and would be heard in government, the workplace, and society as a whole. Since then, women have faced an uphill climb toward equity, which continues to this day.
Without pioneers like Marie Curie, Malala Yousafzai, Rosa Parks, Margaret Hamilton, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Maya Angelou, Sally Ride, Kamala Harris and countless others, our world would not be half of what it is today. So honor all the women who have changed the world, and work to guarantee no more female innovators’ names will be forgotten in the years to come.
Use this hub as a reminder to nurture and promote the next generation of great female figures by making sure they grow up in a world free from gender discrimination. Without hindrances, women have the ability to drastically change the planet, helping address the world’s greatest issues. By standing up to sexist systems and behaviors, we can ensure this becomes a reality.
While the present is not perfect, the future has the potential to be extremely bright for women across the country. Take action today to create a more equitable and just world for tomorrow.
